A little bit about Back to the Garden…

The Nursery - At Back to the Garden we have an array of rooms which have been specifically designed to allow our experienced team to implement and continually develop our child-led ethos, From our beautiful baby room and the colourful arts room for pre-schoolers, to our cosy reading corners, our nursery allows children to be children to explore, experiment, play and use the power of their imaginations to develop, learn and grow.

The Garden, Potting Shed and Teepee - We believe that outdoor play is an essential part of a child’s natural development and our incredible garden at the nursery provides ample space and outstanding facilities. The potting shed is a charming space where the children plant seeds, water and nurture them, watching them grow. The tepee is the focal point of the garden with the children enjoying yoga sessions and story time in the calming space.

The Curriculum - Our curriculum is based on a framework of principles guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage, the New Zealand ‘Te Whariki’ , the Reggio Emilia Approach “the environment is the third teacher”.

Fees, Funding and Sessions - We offer a range of sessions, including full days, half days (morning and afternoon) as well as the 15 and 30 hours funded sessions. We accept childcare vouchers and are signed up to the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme. The curriculum is responsive to individual children, allowing them to learn in their own time, recognises the central position of play in early learning and is holistic, with respect, warmth and the children’s well-being at the heart.
