September is here and we’re saying hello to a new month, a new season and a brand new term!
At Back to the Garden Childcare in Broadheath, Altrincham, every curriculum we plan and create is responsive to the individual children and families that join us, so it changes and grows regularly as we meet new children and go into new seasons.
Our facilities have been creatively designed so that when the colder weather hits and the curriculum changes, we have the perfect learning spaces to accommodate this! We’ve made sure there’s an abundance of resources to help the children continue to learn, grow and develop; from our cosy reading corners to our specially designed creative atelier spaces!
But our curriculum isn’t the only thing that changes, Autumn brings in a beautiful new variety of foods! We believe seasonal food is nature’s way of giving us the right nutrients that we need at the right time of year, it is the key to eating well. We create and serve a seasonal menu of locally sourced organic (where possible) food that incorporates fresh, plant-based produce, meat and fish.
September is a very important month for our preschoolers, as it’s the month they move to their exciting new big school! We teach a broad and rich curriculum that enables them to grow their capabilities across all dimensions, and give them life skills that not only prepare them for big-school but also for life.
To help our children get ready for their future years in higher education, we create opportunities for all ages to meet together, particularly within our Atelier space, our lovely teepee, at meal times and in our garden! Now more than ever the children that have been at the day nursery in Broadheath for a while are understanding they are the bigger ones, and are helping our newest children settle in. From showing them where to wash their hands, to giving them little room tours; we’re loving watching the new friendships being made.
