Back To The Garden Childcare: Childcare like no other in Broadheath, Altrincham

At Back to the Garden, we know just how important it is for your child to receive the best care and education possible, to help them grow as an individual in this big world, and no one knows them better than you do!

That’s why choosing the best quality nursery and early education for your little one is such an important decision.

Our Curriculum

We pride ourselves on being a child-led nursery that gives children a safe space to let their big ideas soar and their creativity run wild. We organise our space, care and curriculum based on the 3 broad overlapping ages of child development, but we believe it’s important for the 3 age ranges to mix. As part of the education program we cultivate opportunities for all ages to meet together, particularly within our Atelier space, our lovely teepee, at meal times and in our garden.

Beautifully natural facilities

Our beautiful indoor environment has been designed to help your child get the most out of their early education. Children have access to open-ended, high quality resources to encourage explorative thinking, enabling them see themselves as ‘planners’, ‘thinkers’ and ‘learners.’ We also have our Ateliers; spaces dedicated to creativity, where children are free to grow and develop their learning through painting, sculpting, drawing and movement.

We make sure our vision and values are reflected in our facilities and childcare, which is why our outdoor area is such a key part of our nursery, where children can engage with natural resources on a much larger scale and learn about the environment. Outside children can participate in:

🌱 Sand and water play

🌱 Large brick play

🌱 Planting and harvesting in our potting shed

We also wanted to create a special outdoor space where the children can come together for a range of unique activities, our teepee provides exactly that! Being a traditional symbol of gathering, children can take part in mindfulness and meditation, storytelling, yoga and baby massage. We believe this is the perfect way to enhance their well-being and personal development.

Delicious food that is also nutritious

At Back to the Garden, our focus on nutrition is one of the cornerstones of our values and vision. We create and serve a seasonal menu of locally sourced organic (where possible) food that incorporates fresh, plant-based produce, meat and fish. We also enjoy a family dining approach when it comes to eating, with the children helping to set the table, serve the meals and clear up afterwards.

By encouraging children to love their food from an early age, to taste it and experiment with it, we believe they then learn to value and respect the food that they are given and understand where it comes from - that someone has grown it, nurtured it and lovingly prepared it before it arrives on their plates. In addition to our own herb and vegetable garden, we have links with several suppliers who are always happy for us to take the children to visit them and see first-hand where their food comes from.
