At home with Back to the Garden Childcare in Altrincham: Keeping your little ones entertained
At Back to the Garden Childcare day nursery in Altrincham, we know that your home has become more than just your home; the lounge is your cinema, the kitchen/dining room is your restaurant, and the garden is your day out! We want to thank all of the parents that are currently working from home as well as being personal entertainers and substitute teachers - we know it won’t always be smooth sailing, but we want to give you a helping hand, and have put together some top tips on how to make sure you’re making the most of home time and learning time!
1. Plan your next day in the evening
With stay at home being the new norm, everything has moved online, and there is now so much accessible content when it comes to creative yet educational activities that you can incorporate into your days! We know that due to working from home, you will be working hard throughout the day. That’s why taking 20 minutes in the evening to plan your next day and setting up a fun routine will help to keep your mind at rest, and the little ones having fun.
2. Spend as much time in the garden as possible
Being outside can inspire children’s creativity, as well as enhance their well-being & personal development! While the spring sun is out you can watch the birds sit on top of the trees or make your own bird feeder, watch the flowers bloom or play with sand and water. Gardening helps children to develop new skills and learn about science and nature from growing their own food.
When the sun goes in it’s the perfect time to hear all of the night time wildlife and watch the stars on a clear night.
3. Theme days
We love the way children develop a love for their own things through creative play and discovery. By incorporating what they love into their day of learning, this will help to keep them engaged and enhance their own learning and thinking. From counting dinosaurs, to drawing their favourite Disney princesses; building rockets, to potting their own plants. A child’s imagination means the possibilities are endless.
